1 out of 5 kids in America faces hunger.

For millions of kids across America, when school is out, meals disappear. Weekends, holidays, and summer break can bring uncertainty about where their next meal will come from.

Our nation was founded on a shared vision that brought people together and led to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Nearly 250 years later, it’s time to rally the nation around a shared goal: to nourish every child’s potential.

Because the American Dream starts with a full plate.

Join the Revolution

Testimonies from partners across the country who joined our 2026 Nourish the American Dream campaign.

The Nourish the American Dream campaign is a powerful example of what’s possible when food banks across the country unite around a shared goal. By bringing together hundreds of organizations nationwide, we’ve built a movement focused on nourishing every child’s potential. Here in Westchester County, where 39% of households are at risk of hunger, that kind of nationwide momentum translates directly into meals on tables for kids who need them most. This campaign proves that real progress is possible when communities, donors, and partners show up together.

Feeding Westchester

We believe that this match will help us make 100,000 more summer meals available to Vermont kids!

Hunger Free Vermont

The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County is extremely grateful for the opportunity to participate in this campaign. We noticed that 30% of the donors that gave, were new donors. These new partnerships don’t just help us meet the immediate demand today; they strengthen our foundation so we can continue fighting food insecurity in the months and years to come.

Thank you so much to your team at Albertsons for the Nourish the American Dream campaign and for including Caldwell Meals on Wheels in it! I still think of Albertsons as our hometown store here in Caldwell and we so appreciate the fact that you still act like a hometown store and not a big corporation!

Caldwell Meals on Wheels

We are so excited and cannot thank you and the whole Albertsons team enough! We already received some pretty significant traction, brought back some lapsed donors, re-engaged with some of the largest gifts our organization has seen from a few donors, and have several corporate partners and board members sharing it out across their teams and networks. You have afforded us and the other participating organizations an opportunity for transformational change, so thank you!

Move for Hunger

As the grant writer for ROCK, one of the most rewarding moments is seeing how a single campaign becomes something much bigger than a donation. Through Nourishing Neighbors, every dollar given was doubled, allowing local families to receive twice the support during a time when food insecurity remains a daily challenge. Watching neighbors, businesses, hospitals, foundations, and individuals come together reminds me that the strongest communities are built when people invest in one another. This campaign didn’t just provide food, it strengthened hope, dignity, and the belief that no one in our community has to face hardship alone.

Reaching Out to Community and Kids

I personally love the tagline, “The American Dream Starts with a Full Plate.” It perfectly captures the heart of this campaign (I can relate from my own personal experience with food insecurity as a child). Before individuals can pursue opportunities, achieve their goals, or build a brighter future, they need access to nutritious food. A full plate represents more than just a meal, it represents hope, stability, and the foundation for success. This message reminds us that addressing food insecurity is an essential step toward helping individuals and families achieve their own American Dream.

Empowering the Masses

This campaign has come at a critical time for our community. As food insecurity continues to rise and many families face impossible choices between paying for housing, utilities, or groceries, the support generated through Nourish the American Dream is helping ensure no one has to go hungry. One story that stands out is from a single mother who recently visited our Free Food Market after losing hours at work. She shared that she had been skipping meals so her children could eat. After shopping in our market and leaving with fresh produce, pantry staples, and proteins, she became emotional and told our staff, “For the first time in weeks, I don’t have to wonder how I’m going to feed my kids tomorrow.” Stories like hers remind us that food is more than nourishment, it’s stability, dignity, and hope. Thanks to the generosity of this campaign, Sunshine Division is able to provide immediate food relief to thousands of families across the Portland metro area while ensuring they are welcomed with compassion and respect. Every meal made possible through this partnership helps a family focus on moving forward instead of worrying about where their next meal will come from.
